Dear All,
Is anyone aware of research done on names which ‘work’ in more than one language?
For instance, I have a friend who’s Jewish and lives in London. Her parents decided to call her ‘Tamara’ because it’s both a common English name and is close to the Jewish (fem.) name ‘Tamar’.
Is that kind of thing common? And does anyone know if it’s been studied in detail?
Thanks in advance,
James.
