QuickBooks is the most efficient financial management software that helps small and medium sized businesses. It helps users to maintain the financial transactions in the systematic ways. This tool has amazing, and unique features and advanced functionalities, so I am perfect in using this software. While working on QuickBooks, I am experiencing QuickBooks Error 404. This error code is an unknown error for me, hence I am getting this error code anytime on my screen. Therefore, I am asking someone to share the permanent ways to fix this error code.

Methods to Fix QuickBooks Error 404
Method 1: Verify your Internet Speed
Go to Internet Explorer and open a frequently opened website.
If you find a problem opening the URL, refresh the internet setting and try again.
If you are still prompted with the message “Page can’t be displayed” or “Connect to the internet”. Switch off and on your wireless router and open the URL again.
In case you face the same issue again, restart the computer system and try again.
Set the Internet Explorer as the default browser.
Lastly, contact your internet service provider if the above steps are not helpful.

Method 2: Change your Internet Settings
Go to Internet Explorer >> Tools >> Internet Options.
Click on Security Tab, go to Trusted Sites and select
Add *.intuit.com and* .quickbooks.com as trusted sites.
Select Close and then Ok.
Log out from the company file and Close QuickBooks.
Reopen QuickBooks > Open company file > perform the job where you encountered QB Error 404.

Method 3: Update and Repair QuickBooks
Open QuickBooks and go to the Help menu.
Click on Update QuickBooks Desktop.
Open the company file and start doing the tasks interrupted by QuickBooks 404 Error.
If the problem still exists, proceed for QuickBooks Repairing as mentioned below:
Press Windows +R together.
Type “Appwiz.cpl” in the box at the bottom left corner of your screen.

Generally in QuickBooks software, the Error Code 404 occurs when the software isn't installed properly or something gets infected, deleted to corrupt files in your QuickBooks database.

Step 1: Verify the Bandwidth Latency

The initial step for the user is to open up the frequently opened website in the default browser.
If you are having any difficulty opening any of the URLs then you will have to refresh the internet settings.
In case you are still seeing the prompts like no internet connection or anything pertinent to it then you have to try turning off and on your internet.
If the user can’t access the URL still then it is recommended you contact the service provider of your internet.
You can also restart your system and try again.

Step 2: Tweak your Internet Settings

Firstly open Internet Explorer and choose Internet Options from the Tools
Click on Security Tab and choose Trusted Sites and click on Sites
Add *.intuit.com and *.quickbooks.com as trusted sites
In the last click, Close followed OK.
Log off from the corporate file and shut QuickBooks.
Reopen QuickBooks and open the company file and perform the work where you encountered Error 404.
