The following equipment and tools will be required for window restoration:
Hand saws, chisels and hacksaws to remove damaged parts of window frames and sashes.
Sanding tools for wood surfaces, such as an electric sander, sanding paper, and steel brush.
Brushes, rollers and sprayers for applying paint and varnish.
Adhesives and sealants for gluing and filling defects.
New parts such as glass, hardware, locks and hinges.
Various tools for replacing and installing new parts, including screwdrivers, wrenches and hammers.
Safety glasses, masks and gloves to protect against dust and chemicals when working on wood and applying paint and varnish.
This is not a complete list, but basic tools and equipment you may need for window restoration.
I don't think everyone has at least half of these in their garage. Personally, I have turned to the professionals at restoring sash windows https://scottjameswindows.co.uk/ and I recommend that you do.
